Congratulations to junior Nora Sypkens of Hillside for earning the Weisenburger Family Scholarship this year. The scholarship is awarded annually to a male or female student at Montini Catholic who has expressed an interest in pursuing a degree in education. Nora, a graduate of Hillside School and a member of St. Domitilla Parish, was selected for her demonstration of outstanding leadership in the classroom as well as in extracurricular activities throughout her time as a Montini Bronco. Most recently, Nora was elected as Vice President of her Bronco Student Government team during the 2020-21 school year.
The Weisenburger Family Scholarship is in gratitude for the transformative Lasallian education that was received by Cathy '70, Marc '71, Carolyn (Drengler) '72, Wally '75, Joe '78, Andrew '05 and Kimmy '07 Weisenburger. It was created to honor and remember Walter and Catherine Weisenburger who, as patriarchs of the family, recognized and valued Catholic education. "It is a special thank you for all they sacrificed to send all four of their children to Catholic schools," said Wally, who was formerly the Chairman of Montini's Board of Directors. Nora will receive $1,000 credit applied to her 2020-21 tuition.
