Montini Catholic is congratulating senior Nate Kremkow for his commitment to join the University of Illinois Springfield's Baseball Program. Montini Catholic's accomplished athlete is looking forward to becoming a Prairie Star in the fall of 2020.
Nate was a member of the Bronco's 2019 State Championship team and ended the season with an All Conference title. He is an active member of Montini's Student Government (Executive Board), the National Honor Society, and divides his efforts, athletically, between baseball and track & field. "Executive Board and baseball are my favorite activities here at school," he said. "As a member of the Student Government Executive Board I am able to collaborate with my fellow students on how to make our school a better place!" Nate adds, "and, I absolutely love baseball!"
"I chose UIS because, when visiting, I could envision myself attending there and enjoying it. I felt like I was where I wanted to be," said Nate, who plans to be a pre-medical student at the university. "The campus was also very new and had a lot of advanced technology!"
Nate is very thankful for the opportunities he has been given at Montini Catholic and, looking back, is glad to have gotten involved in many extracurricular activities. "Montini is preparing me for college through my honors classes. The work assigned here is similar to what I will experience in college."
Nate's parents, Robert and Margaret Kremkow, are very supportive of Nate's decision and very excited about his future. Nate is just as excited. "I can't with for the next four years of my life!"
Nate attended St. Joan of Arc School in Lisle.
