Boys Golf Enjoying the Season

One of the three Bronco sports able to participate this fall (beginning their season on August 10) is Golf.  (Cross Country and Tennis are the other two.)  Montini Catholic Boys Varsity Golf Coach, Eric Scott, has set the tone for his team for the season.  "This year, our expectation is to enjoy each round like it's our last.  We're going to go out and compete to the best of our ability and have fun while doing so!"

Varsity seniors returning this year are: Nathan Czaplicki, Justin Monroe, Vincent Catalano, Brendan Gaughan and newcomer Ben Snukst.  "Ben has been on our Soccer team during his last three years, with that season being moved, we're happy to have him," said Coach Scott.

Other varsity returners include Junior Gianni Pavlopoulos and newcomers junior Nathan Nowak, sophomore Korey Tai and freshman Danny Peterson.  "Korey would normally be on the football field during this time. We're seeing athletes who are not normally able to join us, expanding their horizons and experiencing Bronco golf."

With the graduation of one state top 25 place finisher, Luke Marciniak, and two sectional qualifiers, Myles Marciniak and Nick Renfro, Coach Scott is looking for leadership and guidance from varsity returners Gianni Pavlopoulos, Vincent Catalano, Brendan Gaughan and Nathan Czaplicki. He also expects Justin Monroe, who missed the entire season last year due to an injury, to be a key contributor.

"We are really excited about our season.  I believe we have a great group of young men who are working hard each and every day to better their games.  I expect us to improve drastically in a short amount of time!"
