Montini Catholic congratulates senior Devin Chiaramonti for being awarded the Brother Christopher Kavanaugh FSC Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded each year to students entering their senior year at Montini Catholic and is named after the Lasallian school's sixth principal (1991-1997). It recognizes well-rounded Montini Catholic students who exemplify Brother Christopher's great pride, spirit and enthusiasm for the Bronco experience.
Devin has been a superb example of enthusiasm and involvement at Montini Catholic. He has been a fixture on the school's Broadcasters Team throughout his time in high school as well as a member of the Drama Department, Set Crew and Audio Club. He is a member of the Flight Club, French Club, Computer Club and Robotics Club - currently preparing for a challenging competition season this winter and spring. Athletically he enjoys his time as a member of the Bronco Varsity Lacrosse Team. Spiritually, Devin shares his time as a vital member of the Peer Ministry Team as well as Montini's Pro-Life Club - attending the March for Life in Washington D.C. in 2020 with plans to attend virtual events this year.
Devin recently received Eagle Scout honors this fall, a rank recognizing dedication, perseverance, and knowledge. He has plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois next fall. He is the son of Nicholas '84 (Montini alumnus) and Suzanne Chiaramonti and is a 2016 graduate of St. Pius X Parish School in Lombard as well as a member of St. Pius X Parish.
Brother Christopher Kavanaugh FSC passed away at the age of 66 in 2007. During his years as an educator he taught at several schools in MN, IA, WI, MI, MS and IL, at Montini Catholic High School. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he was a De La Salle Christian Brother for 48 years.
