Montini Catholic junior Caitlin Ude has been named Bronco Artist of the Month for September.

Caitlin was nominated for the honor by Art teacher, Ms. Stephanie Kuecker.  "Caitlin is currently taking my Pottery class.  She has taken Art I and Multi Level art during her time at Montini.  She is very talented in all different types of art and has a very detailed way of working."

udeartworkWEB.jpgCaitlin was both excited and thankful to be the first artist to earn the monthly honor.  "I have always had a creative side to me and I have always enjoyed arts and crafts. I learned that I loved to paint at around age 6 or 7 when my grandmother introduced me to painting. I would paint on my great-grandfather’ easel and I've enjoyed it ever since."

Her interests extend into many areas as a Montini Catholic student.  She is involved with Student Government where she is an Executive Board member.  She is also a member of Montini's Peer Ministry and Lasallian Youth groups.  She has also been chosen to represent Montini Catholic to prospective students as a Student Ambassador.

Caitlin's passion, however, lies in pottery and painting. "I love both because they are both relaxing and I can just let my creative spirits flow. My favorite subject is definitely Pottery because I can let go of any stress and watch myself turn a ball of clay into something that I can be really proud of!" "She never fails to produce a clean and beautiful finished work of art," adds Kuecker.  "She is always willing to help her classmates if they need some advice.  I truly enjoy having her in class!"

"Working with Ms. Kuecker has been amazing," says Caitlin.  "She helps and encourages me and doesn’t restrict my creative levels."

Caitlin has dreams of attending college 'somewhere on the east coast' with big plans to major in Animal Behavior and/or Business.  "I want to have my own business rehabilitating dogs!" She vows never to give up on her creative side, however.  "I plan on joining clubs and painting on my own in college!"

"We are so proud of Caitlin and she truly deserves this honor," said Ms. Kuecker.  "The year has just begun too, I know I'm going to see even greater projects!"

Caitlin attended Visitation School in Elmhurst and is a member of Visitation Parish in Elmhurst.
