Girls Golf Well Into Season and Celebrating New Talent

Montini Catholic's Girls Golf senior captain, Mary Mikolajczak, has been leading her team of Bronco golfers enthusiastically as the young team is well into their season and looking forward to conference and regional season in three short weeks.  Mary, who aspires to continue her golf career in college, is the first athlete to have golfed all four years as a Bronco - joining the team in 2017.

After graduating four seniors last year, this year's team is proud to welcome new freshmen, several who are new to the game and loving every minute of their newfound passion.  "This year we have ten members on the team," said head coach Colleen Marks.  "Two seniors, Maddie (Crosse) and Kristina (Singleton) joined us this year, giving us four seniors on the team.  They have talent for the game, crossing over from other sports.  When they tee off, they 'bomb it out' into the fairway!"   (Senior Maddie McDowell also returned to play this year.)

According to Coach Marks, her group of incoming freshmen are boosting their skills every week. "Most of these girls never picked up a club prior to joining the golf team. They have really enjoyed learning the game and are having a lot of fun growing in the game along with their teammates."
