Introducing Girls Lacrosse Coach, Amanda Kammes!

Montini Catholic is proud to announce the addition of Amanda Kammes to our award winning coaching staff.  She has been selected as the new Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team.

Coach Kammes began her extensive lacrosse coaching career assisting at Garnet Valley High School (Glen Mills, PA) and implementing innovative defenses while serving as the teams' primary defensive coordinator (2011 and 2012).  From there she went on to become First Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator for Women's Lacrosse at the University of California (Davis).

In the fall of 2015, she enjoyed the Lacrosse Head Coach position at Abington High School in Pennsylvania, leading her team in two back to back historic seasons - winning the team's first playoff game in a decade during her first year at the helm.  During their second year Kammes and the Galloping Ghosts won their first Conference Championship since 2010 and went undefeated in conference for the first time since 2009.  While at Abington, Kammes produced two USL All-Americans as well as four Division 1 players and three D2 players.

Kammes went on to coach the Girls Lacrosse team at Owen J Roberts High School, also in Pennsylvania and in 2015 became Head Coach at NXT 2020 Club Lacrosse, managing all aspects of recruiting for the competitive Philadelphia team.  She also served as Director of Sales and Strategy for NXT's Girls Lacrosse Events.

She is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Lakeshore Lacrosse, a female run organization dedicated to the female athlete with the vision of providing a medium for women to develop their skills, test their strengths, embrace sportsmanship and experience camaraderie with others who love the game.

Coach Kammes received her Masters of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education from Benedictine University in Lisle.  She holds an ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification, a BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification and a First Aid Certification from the American Heart Association.

Coach Kammes' athletic abilities do not rest only in lacrosse.  During her time as a Quaker, at the University of Pennsylvania, she was a point guard on the basketball team where she also led the Quakers as team captain (2001-05).  She went on to serve as Assistant Basketball Coach (Division 1) for the Quakers after gaining experience serving as Assistant Coach (Division 1) at American University Women's Basketball (Washington, D.C.).

Coach Kammes is excited for the opportunity to coach the Broncos.  "Amanda is bringing a great deal of coaching experience to our Bronco family," says Mr. Tom Lentine.  "I speak for our entire staff when I say that we are very excited about the future of our Girls Lacrosse program under her leadership."
