Jasmine Gonzaga Receives the Frederick & Ann Smith Memorial Scholarship

Montini Catholic congratulates freshman, Jasmine Gonzaga, for being this year's recipient of the Frederick & Ann Smith Memorial Scholarship.   The $2,500 renewable scholarship is sponsored by the Ryan Smith Foundation and is named in the memory of Frederick Smith.  Frederick was very involved in St. Pius X Parish activities as well as the grade school's basketball program.  His wife, Ann Smith, taught first grade at St. Pius X Parish School for 25 years.

The Frederick and Ann Smith Memorial Scholarship is presented to an eighth grade student from St. Pius X Parish School who has been accepted to Montini Catholic's freshman class.  "Students must be recommended by the principal at St. Pius X (Mrs. Toni Miller) and must demonstrate a commitment to extracurricular involvement as well as a devotion to community service," said Montini Catholic President Jim Segredo.  "They must also maintain a minimum B average during their 7th and 8th grade years."
"We are very honored to be able to present this scholarship to Miss Gonzaga," added Mr. Segredo. "We have no doubt she will impress us by achieving great things during her four years as a Bronco!"

Jasmine Gonzaga is from Lombard and is the daughter of Renato and Irene Gonzaga.  She attended St. Pius X Parish School and is a member of Christ the King Parish in Lombard.
