Montini Catholic Welcomes Coach Adam DeMong

Adam Demong.jpgMontini Catholic is proud to announce the addition of Adam DeMong to their award winning coaching staff.  He has been selected as the new Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Basketball Team.

Coach DeMong, who was most recently listed among Silver Waves Media's Top 100 Most Influential People in Men's College Basketball, began his basketball playing career at Glenbard West High School. From there he earned a walk-on opportunity and scholarship at Boston College and was a member of the Big East Championship in 2001, NCAA tournament in 2001 and 2002, and the NIT in 2003.

Coach DeMong served as Assistant Coach at St. Patrick High School and Glenbard West High School. On the college level, he worked as Associate Head Coach at Lewis University and had Assistant Coach positions at Loyola University and Ohio University. He currently works as Vice President of High Major Sports, a Sports and Event marketing firm exclusively contracted by Under Armour, for facilitating a grassroots basketball circuit.  Events include UA Association League, UA Rise League, UA All-American camp, and SC30 Select camp. DeMong also coaches for the Downers Grove Wolfpack.

"It’s clear from his substantial playing and coaching experience that Adam has an incredibly high basketball IQ," said Principal Kevin Beirne upon introducing him to the Montini Catholic community.  "When you meet him, you’ll quickly get a sense of just how driven he is to succeed and how passionate he is about the growth of his players and the team."

Coach DeMong is excited for the opportunity to coach the Broncos.  "I would like to thank President Jim Segredo, Principal Kevin Beirne and Athletic Director Tom Lentine for choosing me to lead the Montini Boys Basketball Program.  This is an incredibly exciting opportunity and I am honored to have this chance.  I'm most excited to be in a position to connect, coach, and develop our current and future players, in order to create a program that the school and community can both be proud of.  I look forward to working with our Montini student-athletes to build something special!"

"Adam will bring a great deal of coaching experience to our Bronco court," adds Mr. Tom Lentine.  "I speak for our entire staff when I say that we are very excited about the future of our Boys Basketball program under his leadership."
