Spanish Honor Society Candidates Named

SpanishHonorSociety_WEB.jpg

Congratulations to the newest candidates awaiting their induction into their Spanish Honor Society.  The honorees are traditionally inducted each year as part of the Lasallian school's Cultural Awareness Week festivities, but this year, due to Coronavirus cancellations, they will be inducted in early September during the 20-21 school year.  At that time, members and families will be welcomed by Montini's Foreign Language Department Chair, Mrs. Roberta Raike and Spanish teacher and Spanish Club and Honor Society Moderator, Mrs. Nora Kinney.

Eligibility in Montini Catholic's Spanish Honor Societyrequires that students have a cumulative 3.5 GPA, including a 4.0 GPA in their specific language, as well as a commitment to taking the foreign language all four years at Montini.  This year 11 students achieved Spanish Honor Society status.

"We encourage our most advanced Spanish language students to join the Spanish Honor Society for several reasons," said Mrs. Kinney.  "They have the ability to keep in touch with the Spanish culture while broadening their horizons.  They are also able to boost their resume which opens up opportunities for college grants and scholarships.  Congratulations to all of our soon to be members!"
