Congratulations to senior, Lindsey Jarosinski for her commitment to play Division 1 college basketball by joining Wake Forest University's Basketball Program. The Bronco powerhouse is looking forward to becoming a Demon Deacon in the fall of 2018.
Montini's 6'5" Center has been rebounding and shooting since she was eight years old. "I started with park district in third grade and started travel basketball in fifth grade," she said. Getting an early start on her basketball career has earned Lindsey three All Conference titles so far during her time as a Bronco. Her average of 9.2 points a game was a vital factor in the Broncos' third place (Class 4A) finish last season.
Lindsey is as successful in the classroom as she is off the court. She is a member of our National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and is a High Honor Roll member. She has also achieved All Academic Conference status every basketball season so far. She is a much valued Student Ambassador as well, representing Montini and sharing her experiences as a Bronco at various on and off campus events.
"My favorite activities include baking, gardening, and playing basketball," said Lindsey. "Baking and gardening help me relax and have taught me the importance of patience and attention to detail."
Lindsey hopes to major in Environmental Science/Biology and also considered Northwestern, Boston College and the University of San Diego before finally deciding on Wake Forest University. "The coaches, campus, and academics made me choose Wake. It is a well rounded school with high academics," she informed. "I really want to be challenged!"
"My parents (Steve and Janon Jarosinski) are very proud and excited about my decision," said Lindsey. "They are a little sad, though, that I will be 719 miles away in North Carolina." She truly appreciates the education her parents provided for at Montini. "Montini is preparing me for college with advanced academics and holding me to a high standard of character"
