Montini Catholic students took a unique and informative field trip to Chinatown on Wednesday, April 24th. Chinese II, III and IV students, along with teachers, Sumin Xu and Dina Kwit, visited Nine Dragon Wall, Chinatown Gate, Chinatown Mural and Chinatown Zodiac Plaza on their journey which also included lunch at Minghin Cuisine. "The almond cookies were great, and the fortune cookies had entertaining fortunes inside," said Chinese III student and senior, Shea Slaten, who was enjoying her second Montini field trip to Chinatown. (Her sister, freshman Erin Slaten was also present on the tour.) "Mine said, 'Service is the rent you pay to live on this planet.'"

While visiting Zodiac Plaza, group visited the twelve Chinese Zodiac statues abd got their photo taken beside their respective zodiac statues.

"I'm definitely sad that this was my last field trip to Chinatown," Shea. "But, I have my sister to tell me all the details of next year's trip!"

All students at Montini Catholic are required to take two consecutive years of the same foreign language. Currently they offer Spanish, French and Mandarin.
