Football Players Say 'Thanks' To Favorite Teachers

To mark their last home game of the regular season, Montini Bronco football players were encouraged by head coach Mike Bukovsky, to 'thank' a favorite teacher on Friday, October 19th. The team members thanked teachers for being a positive influence in their lives by asking them to wear their jersey throughout the school day and during the game (VS Brother Rice's Crusaders).

Teacher, Ms. Megan Steiner, was thanked by junior Trevor Swier for being an excellent teacher and role model. (Ms. Steiner is a 2010 graduate of Montini Catholic.) In addition to teaching Spanish, she heads up Montini's 'student spirit club', the Montini Maniacs. (Trevor Swier is a member of this club.). The Maniacs are responsible for organizing this year's 'game day kick-off rallies' outside the stadium before every home football game. Students gather for music, bags, food and fun before forming a line to cheer on the varsity football team as they make their walk to the field.

"Ms. Steiner has been great in spreading team spirit and Bronco pride," said Coach Bukovsky. "The kids love her enthusiasm and spirit!"
