Students Celebrate Catholic Schools Week

Inspired by Saint John Baptist de La Salle, an education at Montini Catholic is a tradition rooted in faith, service  and community.
Montini Catholic celebrated the beginning of Catholic Schools Week (now entering its 52nd year) with a special Mass on Monday, January 26th.  As with every year, students began their week-long celebration by focusing on the value of Catholic education and to acknowledge and thank the community, friends and family members for recognizing this value.  Celebrating the Mass with the students this year was Father Shaun Cieslik from St. Mary of Gostyn in Downers Grove.

National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2026 is January 25-31st.   Every year the theme encompasses the core products and values that can be found in Catholic schools across the country.  Through various events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

"Our Catholic Schools Week Mass serves as a reminder that everything we do here at Montini begins and ends with our faith," said Principal Chris Tiritilli.  "As a Lasallian school, we are part of a rich tradition inspired by Saint John Baptist de La Salle - a tradition rooted in faith, service, and community. These aren't just ideals we talk about; they are values we live each day."
