Students Expand Perspectives In World Religions

In order to enhance their religious literacy, on Friday, April 10th, Montini Catholic's World Religions class visited the BAPS Hindu Temple in Bartlett, the Congregation Etz Chaim Synagogue in Lombard and the Islamic Foundation Mosque in Villa Park.

Accompanied by Theology teacher and Assistant Campus Minister, Kelly Davis, the Bronco students toured the religious places of worship. “We were able to experience their prayer firsthand,” said Davis. “These trips give our students a unique opportunity to encounter different beliefs and practices. By engaging with traditions beyond our own, we not only gain a deeper understanding of others, but also reflect more thoughtfully on our own faith."  Mrs. Davis intends for her students to grow to appreciate both the differences and the surprising similarities between religions.

Montini Catholic's Theology Department strives to assist students in developing a mature, living, and vital faith. The Theology program integrates the message of the Gospel of Jesus with the lifestyle of Montini students, communicates the significance of this message and gives students the tools to make the Gospel of Jesus a living reality in today's world.

Montini Catholic is a Lasallian college preparatory high school located in Lombard, Illinois.
