Montini Catholic Music Director, Mr. Donnie Glowinski, congratulated and announced the newest members of the Lasallian college preparatory school's Tri-M (Music) Honor Society on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 just prior to their performance in the fall concert, the first concert of the school year, Harmony in Pink, Voices United for Breast Cancer Awareness.
The Tri-M Music Honor Society's (the three 'M' initials stand for Modern Music Masters) purpose is to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, and promote leadership in the music students of secondary schools.
Candidates for membership are selected from school music students that exhibit exceptional scholarship, leadership, service, and character. They must have been enrolled in a school-sponsored music ensemble and/or class for at least one semester of the current school year and must have maintained for the previous semester at least an “A” average grade or equivalent in music, with at least a “B” average grade or equivalent in other academic subjects. Service roles in both school and community as well as character are also considered when members are selected.
Last spring, Montini's Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter was recognized as the 2025 Illinois Chapter of the Year. "This prestigious award is presented to a chapter that demonstrates exceptional leadership, service, and dedication—not only to their school’s music program but to the broader community," said Mr. Glowinski who was more than proud of his students' achievement. "Montini’s chapter stood out for their creativity, commitment to excellence, and the lasting impact of their work both inside and outside the classroom."
