Boys Track Team Earns Championship Title at Home Meet
It was a successful Wednesday Night Lights/Senior Night Track & Field event on April 22 for Montini Catholic's Broncos! The boys team captured the meet championship, while the girls team delivered a strong performance with a third-place finish.
Elijah Stephens '26 (Glen Ellyn) won the 100 and 200, Graham Reiser '27 (Downers Grove) won the 800, Sean Buckley '26 (Woodridge) won the 1600, Devyn Sheko '26 (Naperville) won discus, Joey Gabreleski '26 (Lombard), Nico Castaldo '26 (Oak Brook), Damacio Ortegon '27 (Elgin) and Elijah Stephens '26 won the 4x1, and Nino Pesola '27 (Lombard), Gavin Conway '27 (Lombard), Adriel Garcia '27 (Maywood), and Sean Buckley'26 won the 4x8.
For the girls, Madeline Davis'29 (Wheaton) won discus and Ashlynn Lindt '26 (Lombard), Natalia Pesola '29 (Lombard), Sydney Gertsen '26 (Plainfield) and Poppy Gerlesits '29 (Lombard) won the 4x4. Montini also won the mixed 4x2 relay with a squad of Charles Flowers '26 (Lisle), Ashlynn Lindt '26, Sydney Gertsen '26 and Payton Nelson '26 (Aurora).
