Brian Grigsby Memorial Scholarship Awarded

Montini Catholic congratulated senior Madeline Caruso during their 2026 Senior Celebration Awards Ceremony on Sunday, April 26th. Madeline was awarded the Lasallian college preparatory high school's Brian Grigsby Memorial Scholarship - awarded each year to the student who best exhibits school spirit and leadership.

Madeline, a graduate of Westchester Middle School, was most appreciated this year for her talent, school spirit, her positive presence among her peers and her leadership skills.

 

During her time at Montini, Madeline was deeply involved in campus life, serving as a member of Peer Ministry, Montini Maniacs and Student Government, where she held a position on the Executive Board. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and earned the IHSA Scholastic Recognition Award for successfully balancing academic excellence with athletic achievement, maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher while competing in both tennis and softball.

 

“From the moment Maddie arrived at Montini, she made a lasting impact on our school community through her energy, leadership, and genuine care for others,” said Principal Chris Tiritilli. “She has been a role model in every sense of the word. Maddie represents everything this award stands for: school pride, service, leadership and commitment to community. We are incredibly grateful for all she has given to Montini, we loved her incredible posters and banners - and we look forward to watching her continue to thrive at Illinois State!"

 

Brian Grigsby (Downers Grove) was an involved student at Montini (1993-1996), whose name was synonymous with school spirit and involvement.
