Peer Ministry Leaders Earn Montini's Mother Teresa Award

 

Montini Catholic in Lombard proudly congratulates the Mother Teresa Award for Campus Ministry recipients from their Class of 2026.  The recipients, seniors Isaac Alexander, Patrick Thompson, Ashlynn Lindt and Cameron Fountain, were informed of the honor on Sunday, April 26, 2026, during the Lasallian college preparatory high school's Senior Celebration Awards ceremony.

"Our Mother Teresa Awards for Campus Ministry are awarded each year to students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to Campus Ministry and have made a meaningful impact on the spiritual life at Montini Catholic," said President Kevin Beirne upon announcing the honors. "Through their leadership in prayer, retreats, liturgies, peer ministry and service to others, these students have helped foster a community rooted in faith, compassion and the Gospel values that define our mission.  Their example has encouraged others and strengthened our school community."

The four seniors were chosen for this award for their work in Peer Ministry, a student-led leadership organization at Montini dedicated to enriching the spiritual life of the school community. Peer Ministers meet regularly to mentor underclassmen, facilitate retreats and lead faith-centered service initiatives that reflect Montini's Lasallian values. Through freshman and sophomore mentorship, school-wide events, Catholic Schools Week activities and community outreach projects, Peer Ministers provide encouragement, foster faith development and inspire a culture of service among their fellow Broncos.

"Isaac, Patrick, Cameron, and Ashlynn were the members of the Peer Ministry Core Team this year and they have worked tirelessly to help improve our school community," said Peer Ministry moderator Katie Miller. "They have spent countless hours working on retreats, fundraising drives, community building events and so much more. They are exceptional leaders and their work this semester has helped to make our school a better place!"

Mother Teresa was the founder of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic congregation of women dedicated to helping the poor. Considered one of the 20th century's greatest humanitarians, she was canonized as Saint Teresa of Calcutta in 2016.

Montini Catholic is a Lasallian college preparatory high school located in Lombard, Illinois (DuPage County).
