Pax Christi Award Recipient Celebrated

Congratulations to Tommy Healy!

Montini Catholic in Lombard proudly congratulated this year's Pax Christi Instrument of Peace Award recipient from their Class of 2026.  The prestigious award was announced on Sunday, April 26th, during the Lasallian college preparatory high school's Senior Celebration Award Ceremony.

This year's Pax Christi Instrument of Peace Award went to senior Tommy Healy.  Each year, this esteemed award, provided by the Diocese of Joliet, recognizes a Bronco student who has devoted him/herself to God by working in the Lasallian tradition of serving others and building a heritage of faith in the Montini community.

Tommy has celebrated an exceptional career as a student at Montini Catholic High School.  Beyond his numerous academic accomplishments, Tommy has made a lasting impact on the Montini community through his involvement with the school’s Peer Ministry team. As a Peer Minister, Tommy has served as a faith-filled role model, dedicating his time to mentoring fellow students, leading retreats and prayer experiences and helping foster the welcoming spirit that defines the Montini community. "Membership on the Peer Ministry team reflects a student’s commitment to leadership through service, faith, and example," said Campus Minister Michael Blanchette.  "These are qualities Tommy embodies each and every day. His ability to inspire faculty, staff and classmates alike has made him an invaluable part of the Bronco family."

"Tommy is a very hardworking and motivated student. He is kind, caring, respectful and always willing to help," said teacher Sumin Xu upon his being selected as a Student of the Month in February.  "His active participation and contribution and leadership skills brings great positive energy and inspiration to Montini."

"Tommy embodies the values we strive to instill in every Montini Catholic student - academic excellence, leadership, faith, and service," said President Kevin Beirne. "This recognition is a testament to the dedication, character and compassion he demonstrates each day. We are grateful for the example he has set for his peers and are excited to see the many ways he will continue to make a difference in the world."

Tommy will be attending the University of Illinois in the fall to pursue a career in Finance/Accounting.  He is a graduate of O'Neill Middle School and is a parishioner of St. Joseph Parish in Downers Grove.
