Freshmen Get Oriented at Quest 2029 Event

Montini Catholic welcomes their Class of 2029 at their Quest Freshmen Orientation event.
Montini Catholic in Lombard officially began their 60th year of education on Friday, August 8th, by welcoming their Class of 2029 to the Lasallian college preparatory high school's annual Quest Freshman Orientation event.

The goal of the day is to provide freshmen a special day to get acquainted with one another and their teachers.  Students are also able to walk the hallways and get acclimated before their first day of classes (Thursday, August 14th).  Members of Montini's Student Government graciously gave up one of their last days of summer to guide the new students through their day.  Student leaders also helped out, leading small groups and sharing their own experiences as freshmen while providing advice and encouragement.   The program concluded with a Freshman Parent Night for all new Bronco parents.

For many freshmen entering into their first year of high school, the experience can be very stressful and overwhelming. Montini's Quest event is designed to make this experience as fun and memorable as it can be.  "Quest is the first real opportunity for incoming freshmen to acclimate to the Montini environment," said Assistant Principal for Student Services, Ms. Lexxi Gora who planned the day. "They can socialize with peers, meet new friends, ask our upperclassmen and teachers questions, learn how to use their iPad devices, and locate their lockers and classrooms. This event helps alleviate anxiety for many students before their first day of school and sets them up for success. It's also a wonderful way for our current students to step up as leaders in our community and show the freshmen what it means to be true Montini Broncos!"

"Orientation night was an exciting reminder that Montini is moving forward with gratitude, purpose and momentum," said President Kevin Beirne.  We are so blessed to welcome so many new families into our community. Together, we are ensuring that every Montini student has the very best high school experience."

Montini Catholic's goal, as a co-educational private school, is to make each student's educational experience unique to his or her needs. Their Lasallian tradition recognizes the sacredness of all persons and educates students of diverse abilities, cultures, and backgrounds.
