Welcome Aboard, Mary and William!

Montini Catholic  is proud to announce William Dawes '13 and Mary Albert as new members of our Lasallian college preparatory high school's Alumni Relations Team.  Both will serve their separate roles in Montini's Development Office.

William is stepping up from his five year role as assistant in the Development Office and is now Montini's Alumni Relations and Annual Gifts Officer, a role that includes overseeing the engagement, cultivation, and events pertaining to Bronco alumni who were involved in extracurriculars as Bronco students. "William brings to the role a dedication to the community, an ability to remember everyone he meets, and a LOVE for Montini that is infectious which will help to reconnect our alumni to each other and this wonderful school," said President Kevin Beirne upon announcing the new team to faculty and staff.

"After five amazing years working at my alma mater, I am beyond thrilled to be taking on a much larger role in the Montini Catholic community," said William who has been the "Voice of Bronco Athletics" for three years announcing at many athletic events.  He is also the current manager of Montini's Spirit Store and will remain so with this position.  After graduating from Montini in 2013, William attended North Central College in Naperville and graduated in 2017 with a degree in Broadcast Communications. "Since rejoining the Montini family in 2018, I have seen first-hand how our school has continued to grow and develop and how we have navigated the ever-changing world of Catholic education," said William. "I'm excited about the opportunity to interact with and get to know our alumni so they can stay informed about all the great events happening at Montini!"

Mary Albert will serve as Montini's Alumni Relations Officer. She is also a familiar face to many Broncos as a graduate of St. Mary of Gostyn in Downers Grove. "Mary’s knowledge of event planning, social media, and marketing will help us to build community among our alumni," said President Beirne. Mary will provide leadership and direction in alumni relations and special events with the primary goal of increasing alumni engagement while working with Montini's Advancement Team to create and execute strategies for engaging alumni through special events and volunteer opportunities.

"As a proud graduate of St. Mary of Gostyn, Downers Grove North High School, and Illinois State University, I’m thrilled to join the Montini family and connect with this incredible alumni community," said Mary, who brings with her a background in organizational leadership communications. "I’m looking forward to building meaningful relationships and keeping Bronco alumni engaged and connected. My goal is to ensure that every alum feels valued and continues to be a part of the Montini family no matter how long it’s been since graduation, or where life has taken them."

The team will work under the leadership of new Development Director, Anne Marie Lowery. "Mary and William each bring a unique perspective and skill set to the Alumni office," said Anne Marie. "I know that they will help us to reach more alumni where they are at, connect them to other alumni, and engage alumni with life on campus. I look forward to their new initiatives and improvements to traditional events."

This month, Montini Catholic's Band is celebrating a National Champion (Class A) title in the National Catholic Band Association's national band competition. "We are incredibly proud," said the Lasallian college preparatory high school's Music Director Donnie Glowinski. "This is the first time in school history that Montini Catholic has earned this title." Each year, Catholic high schools from across the country are invited to submit performance recordings to be adjudicated by a panel of expert judges. "This prestigious honor is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our student musicians. Their commitment to excellence has brought great pride to our school community," added Glowinski. "Every year, we work on becoming better musicians, and every year, the band rises to the challenge. I am so unbelievably proud of the work this group has done this year and everything they have accomplished. I am really looking forward to the future to see what these students will be able to do!" In the summer of 1953 a small group of concerned band directors, led by Director of Bands Robert F. O’Brien, met on the campus of the University of Notre Dame to discuss the Catholic School Band, its particular problems, and what might be done to further its development. Fr. Theodore Hesburgh Notre Dame President, gave the welcome speech. Mr. O’Brien then proposed goals for the organization and the NCBA was born. Today, NCBA's office is located at Villanova University Office of Music Activities. The NCBA recognizes the value of music within the Catholic school community. Their mission is to establish high musical, educational and ethical standards in Catholic schools' band programs.
